Heartbreak: How to Make It Work for You!

Hi, it’s Timera Love, and if anyone knows heartbreak, it’s me. It’s given me a lot of experience in the world of love, relationships and romance. But the bottom line is this: if you aren’t whole and complete, and you don’t have a healthy relationship with yourself, your capacity to love others is very limited. That’s the starting point.

In my YouTube Video “ HeartBreak! Make the most of it” , I shared the points that stood out most on my own journey. But healing heartbreak is more complicated than any one video can cover, so here’s a little more.Start with yourself.

Heartbreak asks you to sit with yourself and be honest enough to look at your own issues, and to try to work through them without compensating through other people or things outside you. It can be confronting, and sometimes overwhelming. You meet your inner narrative: the way you speak to yourself, your belief systems and the way your body has learned to regulate.

Notice the stories you’re carryingA lot can come up. Trauma from the past. Stories you haven’t let go of. Stories you’ve inherited as your own that were never yours, such as other people’s perspectives on love, your model of love, who you are and what’s expected of you. Part of the work is asking which of those beliefs are truly yours.

Don’t do it alone start by reaching out. Lean on communities, coaches, positive friends and supportive family before anything else. If you don’t have people right now, lean on animals and nature. Put yourself in an environment where you feel safe enough to show your emotions, feel supported and not feel judged.Make heartbreak a place of powerIf you do this work, it’s powerful, because the world can’t have you on your knees every time someone leaves or you experience loss or grief. That’s a place of true power, and it’s where you want to find yourself. It’s a journey, though, and getting there means moving through some dark spaces along the way.

You’re never too old, and it’s never too lateIt all begins with one decision: changing your perspective on your life now, so you improve the quality of the life you have left to live.Key takeaways.

Wholeness with yourself comes before healthy love with others. Sit with yourself honestly instead of using people or things to fix the pain. Question which stories and beliefs about love are actually yours. Don’t heal alone. Lean on people, animals and nature.Heartbreak, worked through, becomes a place of strength.
